NORTHERN SOUL WORKSHOP

WITH HOSTS SISTERS IN LAW AND NORDICA

Northern Soul is a Lofoten photography workshop co-hosted by two quite different players from the Scandinavian wedding industry, Sisters In Law and Nordica. Zanna Metzer and Kristina Grahn are the founders of Sisters in Law, Scandinavia’s largest wedding blog and magazine. Cole Roberts from Nordica is a wedding photographer based in Sweden and the co-founder of Nordica, Way Up North, and Kolla.

WORKSHOP FORMAT

This English-language workshop is perfectly suited for an adventurous soul seeking an experience in the jewel of the Arctic, Lofoten. One part adventure, one part styled shoot, a splash of business and marketing insights, 100% insane nature. The emphases of this workshop is to photograph a lot, and do so in a small group size.

PHOTOGRAPHY SESSIONS

On each day of the workshop, groups will be split and there will be two couples being photographed.

In the morning, one group will do a styled shoot led by Sisters in Law. While that is happening, the other group will go on an adventure with Nordica. In the evening, the groups will switch.

The following day, the same format applies but the groups will switch and photograph the same two couples in different settings.

So in total, there will be four separate settings, all with small group sizes, and perfect for someone looking to build their portfolio.

SISTERS IN LAW PHOTO SESSION

Bohemian elegance is the main focus of these shoots. With hand made bridal wear from Sisters in Law’s own collection Ellen Marie Bridal and accessories out of the ordinary, you will get the chance to take creative couple’s portraits with forward thinking wedding fashion.

NORDICA SESSIONS

You know those stunning Lofoten landscapes everyone keeps talking about? Years of experience visiting Lofoten has given Cole an insight to most incredible locations in this remarkable part of Norway, and he will lead the groups to the best of the best at sunrise and sunset each day.

WORKSHOP SESSIONS

In between shoots on each day, workshop guests will be hosted to a workshop by Nordica and Sisters in Law. Have a curiosity about business and marketing? If so, you will love these talks.

Hi Laura – yep, we will in the fall (either September or October – still ironing out the dates).

  1. Hello! My name is Heather and I’m an upstate New York wedding photographer. I am VERY interested in joining the Northern Soul Lofoten workshop. I’ve been searching for the perfect workshop to invest in and I am sure this is the one! This post shows a couple different dates however, so I’m confused as to when the next workshop is being held and if there is availability still. One of the dates listed was September 16-18, but I didn’t know if that was for 2019 or 2020. When I tried to sign up for it, I was letting me go through with the registration, but of course I want to be sure of the details. Would you please be able to clarify the dates of the next workshop? Thank you so much and I look forward to learning more!
