People have planes, trains, hotels, and a million other things to consider when planning to attend Way Up North.
So for Stockholm 2019, we want to give you a heads-up what you can expect with the schedule.
Please note though – this is general guideline, and not set in stone. Hopefully it helps!
The first event for Way Up North 2019 is a small gathering for the Swedish audience called WUN Local. The presentations will be in Swedish with the lineup including Jonas Burman, Karin Hasselström, Maria Broström, Nadja Endler, and Johanna Rosenlew.
Partners Sisters In Law and Rental Stories are hosting a series of styled shoots outside the venue. So bring your camera and have some fun with your peers to get you in the groove for the event! Everyone attending Way Up North is welcome and it will be in English.
Scandinavian Photo is inviting everyone for a welcome gathering at their flagship store on Vasagatan, right in the heart of Stockholm.
You’ll want everything in their gorgeous store, but that’s not exactly the idea of this gathering. The idea is to mingle with all the guests before the event, and of course pick up your event badge. So bring your identification, and let Scandinavia Photo host you to an evening of fun!
Meet at the Kolla Pop-Up Store (Sergelgatan 10) and stroll your way through the stunning cobbled streets of Stockholm en route to Svenska Filminstitutet (Borgvägen 1-5).
This is an informal event and completely optional. Bring your camera, meet a few people, and see for yourself just how insanely beautiful Stockholm is!
Doors open at 08:30, and everyone is welcome to mingle with the sponsors. Remember to bring your event badge which you received at the Scandinavian Welcome, or if you didn’t attend, just find a member of the WUN staff and we’ll get you sorted.
Don’t have your Way Up North ticket yet? There’s still time before the next price increase on September 1st.

I’M EXTRAORDINARY
I’m going to abandon everything I learned growing up and just be upfront about it. I made it. How I know? It’s my intro you’re reading. How I got here? I did some things decent, some great and some extraordinary. Now I’m going to tell you a bit about them, which of them actually mattered and why.

WTF: WHAT’S THE FOCUS
Navigating your way through life and business can be hard. It can be easy to get sucked into what everyone else is doing, trying anything and everything just to stay in the game. Sometimes our personal idea of what success is can be the very thing that is stopping us from succeeding. We are excited to share with you some of our journey! How we walked away from safe jobs to pursue photography full time. How we built our business through personal strengths, focused goal setting, + defining success for ourselves rather than what the world was telling us it is. When we start to chase rather than focus inward we can miss the joy that comes with living a life of personal fulfillment. We are big believers that changing your perspective can give you the tools you need to live the life you have always imagined.
Fireside Rap with Brian Morrow
Did you know our host Brian Morrow is a rapper (amongst many many many other things). You’ll see at the party. But! You’ll also see him in action hosting a roundtable conversation with the presenters from day one, as we unwind with some free-flowing, candid conversation.
Show up at 19:00 for drinks and hangs, then at 21:00 enjoy the show as Mastin Labs will be hosting an evening of additional presentations. We’ll share the surprises as we near the date, but you won’t want to miss this!
Space is limited (emphases there because that’s some straight-up facts) and this is a first-come, first attend gathering so we recommend you show up at 19:00 if you want to get in.
Similar to morning one. Meet at the Kolla Pop-Up Store (Sergelgatan 10) and cruise your way to the theatre. Bring your camera, and go for it!
Doors open an hour later then day one, so you get that extra hour sleep after the Mastin Labs After Work. Yay!

GUMPTION & GRACE : A SOUTHERN MENTALITY
For the last year, those two words have been “IT” words in my life. You have to just keep saying yes to things and have the gumption to do so. Much of what separates us all is our ability to move past fear and truly throw ourselves into the deep end. There have been many points in my career that this mentality has truly paid off. When it doesn’t, I have learned to give myself grace and learn from the risk I made. Let’s chat and I will share with you ways these practices have launched my career forward!

THE FREEDOM OF BEING YOU
About my journey and how it shaped the way I work. The transition form commercial work to weddings. How I try to keep it simple, and how that has become part of my brand. I’ll talk about my relationship with music and the impact it has in my work. Why not following a “certain style” has given me so much freedom.

FUCK YOUR FRIENDS (JK I’M STILL COMING UP WITH A TITLE)
I built my own business from the ground up to become one of the world’s top 10 wedding photographers, then I literally said “fuck it!” and started a slew of businesses built on dreams and entrepreneurial savvy. In doing that, I realized what I really love isn’t photography but the way photography connects me with people. Then I realized I really just love connecting people, so I figured I better gather 25 or 50 or 100 other photographers and build a place where we can all say “fuck it” and just connect and share and learn from each other to advance ourselves personally and professionally. Now that connection seems to flow more freely than ever through social media, I’m saying “fuck it” again and doubling down on building real, human connections. I’m not here to say “stop” being on social media or anything like that; I’m here to offer you insights into how to begin being better about your human connections so you can feel fulfilled and rewarded with the real stuff of life – connectivity, love, and all the good things that come with ’em.
Fireside Rap
Let Brian Morrow massage your minds along with the presenters from day two as we end the show with a bang!
The theme for the Wooden Banana Party, featuring Michael Antonia, is Yellow. So start planning your outfits, and we’ll have more information to share as we near the date!
