Valencia
Way Up North / Show Twenty

The New
Wave

València  ·  13 & 14 October 2026  ·  Teatro Talia

Welcome to Way Up North Valencia, our 20th edition and our first trip to Spain. The theme of the event is THE NEW WAVE, and each presenter below will interpret it their own way.

Over the two days everything happens between Teatro Talia and Museo L'Iber. This is the first time we have used two venues this way, so we want to be clear about it.

Museo L'Iber is where we gather in the mornings before the show starts, and where you go during every break. Food and drink are available to buy inside, and the sponsors are set up there. We understand the temptation to wander. Stay in this area.

Teatro Talia is where the presentations happen. It is across a walking path from Museo L'Iber. The two are right beside each other.

Museo L'Iber for mornings and breaks. Teatro Talia for the presentations.

Let us get into it, and see how the days unfold.

Tickets are still available

Workshops & Registration

Canon Styled Shoots, 12:00 – 16:00

Canon
Capture One
Run by Canon and Capture One

Canon and Capture One run the styled shoots on the Monday. We keep them out of the ticket because some years they do not happen at all, and when they do there are always more people who want a spot than there are spots.

This year they are on. We are still working out how registration runs, meaning how many places there are and which time slots. Everyone with a ticket gets a newsletter telling you the exact moment spots open. From then it is first come, first served.

Location comes with the registration details.

Sign-up is not open yet. Same as the styled shoots, everyone with a ticket gets a newsletter telling you the exact moment spots open, and from then it is first come, first served.

Event registration is downstairs in the same building from 18:00, so you can collect your badge on the way out.

Tue 13 Oct

Day One
Fleur Vanden Bosch

Your host, Fleur Vanden Bosch

Fleur opens the show on Tuesday morning and is with you through to the close on Wednesday. A wedding photographer from Dilbeek in Belgium, she got the job by answering an open call for a host in Brussels with “I am not afraid to talk in front of a lot of people.”

The welcome, the introductions, the handovers between blocks, and the begging you to be back on time after the breaks. When something goes wrong on stage, she is the one who makes you forget it did.
