The fine print, in plain words

How WUN works, together

How the community, Membership, tickets and the Awards work, what we expect from each other, and what happens when something goes wrong.

Updated 11 October 2026 · Way Up North AB

At a glance

The community is freeFeed, messages, Spaces and a basic Directory listing cost nothing.
You own your workYou keep full ownership. We only show your work where you post it.
Tickets travel with youNon-refundable but transferable. If we cancel, you get your money back.
Fair moderationEvery moderation decision is explained, and you can appeal it.

01

The agreement

In shortThis is the deal between you and Way Up North AB, in plain English, for everything WUN offers.

These Terms are the agreement between you and Way Up North AB (organisation number 559375-4665, Vikingavägen 74, 803 44 Gävle, Sweden). They cover wayupnorth.co, the WUN community on the web and in our app, our events, Membership and the Awards: together, "WUN" or "the Service".

By creating an account or buying from us, you accept these Terms. We have kept the legal wording to the minimum needed to be accurate. Where a sentence still sounds formal, it's because it has to be precise. Our Privacy policy and Cookie policy belong to the same agreement.

02

You and your account

In shortEveryone is welcome. One real person per account, and you look after your own sign-in.

WUN welcomes people of all ages, in our community and at our events.
One account per person, in your own name or the name of your studio. Tell us the truth about who you are and keep your email address current.
You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your sign-in methods to yourself. If something looks wrong, write to us straight away.
You can change your details at any time in settings, and leave whenever you like (see Leaving WUN).

03

The community

In shortThe community is free. Some Spaces are invite-only or for event attendees.

Joining the WUN community is free for verified accounts. That includes the feed, profiles, People and Friends, messages and ordinary Spaces, on the web and in the app.

Some places need more than an account: private Spaces need an invitation, and event Spaces are for people attending that event. Hosts of a Space can set its own rules on top of these Terms and remove people who break them.

04

House rules

In shortTreat people like colleagues. No harassment, hate, spam, theft of work or scraping.

WUN works because people are generous with each other: they share what they learned, credit each other's work and treat a stranger at the bar like a colleague. Bring that spirit, and please don't:

Harass, threaten, bully, defame or discriminate against anyone.
Post hate speech, praise violence or promote terrorism or extremism.
Post sexually explicit content, intimate images shared without consent, or anything that sexualises minors. We report child sexual abuse material to the authorities.
Pretend to be someone else or misrepresent your work, awards or credentials.
Post someone else's work as your own, or anything that infringes copyright, trademarks or privacy.
Spam, send chain messages, mass-message members with sales pitches or try to game the feed.
Advertise in the community beyond your own profile and work, unless you are a labelled partner.
Access accounts or data that aren't yours, scrape or bulk-download the Service, or interfere with how it runs.
Use WUN for anything illegal.

If we add to this list in a way that matters, we tell you in advance, as described in Changes to these Terms.

05

Your work stays yours

In shortYour work is yours. We only show it where you post it, and never use it for marketing or AI without asking.

You own everything you post, upload or send on WUN: photos, videos, text, comments, messages and your profile. Nothing in these Terms changes that.

To run the Service we need your permission to handle it, so you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, back up, resize, convert and show your content, only:

to the audience you chose: everyone, signed-in members, a Space, or the people in a conversation;
across the features where that audience sees it, such as feeds, profiles, Spaces, hashtags and editorial picks in the community;
to keep WUN working: backups, and processing so it looks right on every screen and connection.

What we will never do without asking you first:

Use your work in our marketing, newsletters, homepage, partner materials or social channels. We ask each time, for that use.
Sell, license or hand your work to anyone else.
Use your content to train AI or machine learning models, ours or anyone's.
Edit your work beyond the technical resizing above.

The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from backups for their short retention period. Copies others legitimately hold, such as a message you sent them, stay until they delete them.

06

People in your photos

In shortPost only work you have the rights to, with permission from the people in it.

Wedding work is full of people who never signed up for WUN. When you post, you confirm that:

you made the work, or have the right to share it;
you have the permission you need from everyone recognisable in it, including couples, guests and the parents or guardians of any children, and any model release your local law requires;
any music, artwork or other material in it is licensed for sharing in a professional community;
sharing it breaks no law and no one else's rights.

If someone tells us they didn't agree to appear in your work, we may act under Reports and moderation. People who appear in content can always reach us at [email protected].

07

Membership

In short€125 a year plus VAT for Awards entries and event benefits. It renews automatically each year unless you cancel. You can cancel at any time.

Price
€125 per year plus VAT. VAT and the total are calculated at checkout.
What's included
Three Awards entries in each of four eligible Collections per paid year, and the member benefits announced for selected physical events and workshops. Each event says which benefits apply to it. Details are on the Membership page.
Renewal
Membership renews automatically every year unless you cancel. Cancel any time in billing; you keep your benefits until the paid year ends.
Changing your mind
You can withdraw within 14 days of buying for a full refund. If you use a benefit in those 14 days, such as submitting an Awards entry, you agree that the withdrawal right ends from that moment. After 14 days the current year isn't refunded, but nothing renews once you cancel.
Founding members
Members whose first year is paid before 15 January 2027 receive a permanent Founding member badge. It is a thank-you, not a price promise, and it stays with your account and can't be transferred.
Price changes
A new price never applies to a year you've already paid. We tell you before a renewal at a different price, so you can cancel first.

Membership is not needed to join the community or to list yourself in the Directory. Both are free.

08

Event tickets

In shortEvent tickets are non-refundable but may be transferred. If we cancel, you get your money back.

Each event page shows the date, place, ticket types and any event-specific terms at the time you buy. Price steps (such as early prices) end on the dates shown.
Event tickets are non-refundable but may be transferred to another person. The new holder's details replace yours.
Venues and line-ups are often announced after tickets go on sale; that is part of how WUN works, and it is not a reason for a refund. Programme details can change.
If we cancel an event, you get a full refund of the ticket price.
If we move an event by more than 30 days and you can't make the new date, you can choose a full refund instead.
We don't cover travel, accommodation or other costs around an event, so we recommend flexible bookings and travel insurance.

09

At our events

In shortBring your ticket, expect cameras, respect presenters' work and the people around you.

Bring your ticket or member card: we scan it at the door and for activities with limited places.
Our events are photographed and filmed. Photos and videos of shared spaces, the stage and the audience may appear on WUN, in our newsletters and on our social channels. If you'd rather not be featured, tell our team at the event or write to us afterwards, and we'll avoid using images where you're the focus.
Recording talks in full or sharing presenters' slides needs the presenter's permission.
The house rules apply in person too. We may ask anyone who harasses or endangers others to leave, without a refund.
Venues have their own rules, for example on safety, age limits for alcohol and accessibility. Please follow them and our team's directions.

10

The Awards

In shortEvery cycle has its own published rules. You decide how your entry may be shown.

Members get three entries in each of four eligible Collections per paid year. Anyone can also buy a three-entry pack, at the price shown at checkout.
Each cycle publishes its own rules: Collections, deadlines, judging criteria and how entries may be shown.
When you enter, you choose whether your entry may be shown publicly, including in the winners' archive. That choice applies to that cycle.
Entries bought separately can be refunded until judging opens for that cycle. Once judging starts, they can't, whatever the result.
Judges' decisions are final.

11

The Directory

In shortA free, opt-in listing that you control. No paid placement.

A basic Directory listing is free for verified accounts. You create it yourself and give explicit consent before it's published.
Listings need a complete profile and may be reviewed. We can hide or refuse listings that break these Terms or mislead clients.
For now the Directory is visible to signed-in members only. We will tell you before it opens to the public.
All listings are equal. There is no paid placement today; if that ever changes, paid placements will be clearly labelled.
You can edit, hide or remove your listing at any time in Directory settings.

12

Partners and sponsored content

In shortAnything a partner paid for is labelled Sponsored.

Our partners help make WUN happen. When a partner pays for something you see in the community, it is labelled "Sponsored" and shows who it is from. Partner offers and posts never pretend to come from members. Partners' own sites and terms apply when you use their offers.

13

Payments and VAT

In shortStripe handles payment. Prices are in euros, plus VAT.

Payments run through Stripe's secure checkout. We never see or store your full card number, and Stripe's own terms apply to the payment.
Prices are in euros and shown excluding VAT; checkout adds the VAT that applies to you. Businesses can add a VAT number for their invoice.
Your receipt and invoice arrive by email and stay available in your account.

14

Reports and moderation

In shortReport what's wrong. We explain every decision, and you can always appeal to someone new.

We do not tolerate objectionable content or abusive behaviour. We remove content and restrict or suspend accounts when necessary to protect the community. We review reports and act on confirmed violations within 24 hours.

Use Report wherever you see it, or write to [email protected] with the subject "Report". The person you report never learns who reported them. WUN staff review reports and may also act on clear breaches they notice themselves.

Depending on how serious something is, we may:

send a warning;
limit where content appears, for example keep it on your profile but out of feeds;
remove content;
restrict what an account can do for a while, such as posting;
suspend an account for a set period;
close an account for serious or repeated breaches.

For urgent safety risks, clearly illegal content or a court order, we act first and explain afterwards. Every time we act on your content or account, you get a clear statement of what we did and why, as the EU Digital Services Act requires.

Think we got it wrong? Appeal in the product where offered, or write to [email protected] with the subject "Appeal". A different person from the one who made the decision reviews it, and we aim to answer within 14 days. Repeated breaches add up: three within 12 months can lead to suspension or closure, and you are told about each one.

15

Copyright complaints

In shortFound your work used without permission? Send us the details and we'll act.

If something on WUN infringes your copyright or other rights, write to [email protected] with the subject "IP complaint" and include:

your name and contact details;
the work you believe is infringed;
a link to the content on WUN;
a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorised, and that your notice is accurate.

We handle notices under the Digital Services Act's notice-and-action rules. We may remove or restrict the content and ask the member who posted it for their side.

16

Leaving WUN

In shortDelete your account whenever you like, with 30 days to change your mind.

You can delete your account any time in Privacy settings. When you do:

your profile is hidden straight away and you're signed out everywhere;
you have 30 days to change your mind and cancel;
after that your account and personal data are erased from our live systems, with backups following within their retention period;
comments that others replied to may stay, shown as "Deleted member", so conversations still make sense.

We keep orders and tax records for seven years, as Swedish law requires, and moderation records for up to 12 months. Download your data first if you'd like a copy. We may close an account ourselves as described under Reports and moderation.

17

When things change or break

In shortWe aim for reliable, not perfect. Paid benefits are protected when things change.

We work hard to keep WUN running, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. Maintenance and outages happen, and we don't offer a service-level agreement. We keep improving WUN, so features change, appear and sometimes go away. If a change seriously affects something you've paid for, we tell you in advance and offer a fair remedy.

We aren't responsible for events beyond our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, war, pandemics or major infrastructure failures. If one affects an event, the ticket rules above still apply.

18

Liability

In shortYour consumer rights always apply. Beyond them, our liability has a sensible limit.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your mandatory rights as a consumer.

Within that, our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to what you paid us in that period, or €100 if that is more. We aren't liable for indirect losses such as lost profits, lost data or lost goodwill. WUN links to other sites and services; their own terms apply and we aren't responsible for them.

19

Changes to these Terms

In shortReal changes come with 30 days' notice by email.

Small changes, such as clearer wording, fixed links or new contact details, take effect when we publish them. For changes that meaningfully affect your rights or obligations, we email you at least 30 days before they take effect. If you don't accept a change, you can delete your account before then and get a pro-rated refund for any paid benefit you won't receive.

20

If we disagree

In shortSwedish law applies, and your home-country consumer rights still protect you.

These Terms are governed by Swedish law, and disputes go to the Swedish courts. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and can bring a claim there. Please write to [email protected] first; most things are solved in an email. Consumers can also turn to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (arn.se).

21

Housekeeping

In shortThe usual housekeeping, kept short.

These Terms, the Privacy policy and the Cookie policy are the whole agreement between us about the Service.
If a court finds part of them unenforceable, the rest still applies.
If we don't enforce something straight away, we can still do so later.
You can't transfer your account or this agreement. We may transfer it to a company that takes over WUN, and your rights stay the same.
These Terms are written in English. If we offer a translation, the English version decides.

Still wondering about something?

Write to us. A real person on the WUN team reads every message, and we usually reply within a few working days.
