History can’t be rushed. Then suddenly, when you least expect it, it sneaks up on you and you realize you’ve built something special.
That’s exactly how it’s been with the Way Up North Awards. When we launched them in 2017, we never imagined they would grow into what they are today. Yet here we are in 2025, looking back with pride at how far we’ve come.
We’re tremendously proud of what these awards have become. The stories woven throughout their history are an integral part of the Way Up North journey, and that story continues today with the announcement of the 2024 WUN Awards Finalists.
Our Dedicated Judges
First, we must extend our deepest gratitude to our judges. Imagen has been the anchor of the awards for several years now, and their ambassadors invested countless hours judging the photography competitions with care and expertise.

What Happens Next
Here’s how the awards will proceed from this point:
In Berlin, all award winners will be announced live. If you entered a submission contest, the top ten winners across all categories will be revealed at the event.
For the individual competitions—whose finalists we’re announcing today—the overall winner of each category will be celebrated live at our showcase event in Germany on April 2nd.
