Our 20th edition. October 13th and 14th, 2026. València, Spain.
When we asked the community where to go next, Spain came up more than any other country. By a wide margin. València did not. We didn’t go to the cities you’d have asked for. WUN works as a travel brand sometimes, and a travel brand needs to zag. València is the city you’ve been meaning to visit but haven’t had a reason for. Now you do.
Mediterranean coast. The food, the light, the hours of the day people live at full volume. Easy to fly into directly. Barcelona and Alicante are both reasonable drives if you’d rather start somewhere bigger. Mid-October keeps the warmth of summer without the crowds.
The theme is THE NEW WAVE. A photographer with twenty years in is rewriting their playbook in real time. A photographer six months in is fully booked through next year. Both are right. The kid winging it. The veteran adapting without a map. AI making images that never happened. The business model nobody had figured out a year ago. The New Wave is all of it.
Vienna was our rebirth. València is the wave that follows.
Teatro Talia sits in Ciutat Vella, the historic heart of València. Steps from the Cathedral, the Lonja de la Seda, and the narrow lanes that built the city. Golden hour light bouncing off old stone, and some of the best food in Europe within a five-minute walk. Mid-October keeps the warmth of summer without the crowds. It’s the city’s own season for sitting outside, eating slowly, and watching the day go by.

What is Way Up North? Way Up North began in 2015 as a gathering for wedding photographers in Sweden. Now in our 20th edition, we’ve grown into a biannual celebration of the wedding photography community across Europe.
Each spring and fall, we bring together photographers, filmmakers, planners, florists, and other wedding creatives for two days of presentations, creative exploration, and community building in a new European city.
Everything happens in one theater around a single theme for a cohesive, immersive experience. Between talks, connect with sponsors, explore the host city, and build friendships with like-minded creatives from all backgrounds and experience levels.
Ticket Policy Tickets are non-refundable but fully transferable. Can’t make it? Sell or gift your ticket to someone else – just send us their name and contact details. Tickets cannot be transferred between events or used as credit toward future events.
