The workshop is based in Cortina d’Ampezzo, roughly two hours north of Venice. For those arriving by air, transportation can be coordinated if your arrival times match the host’s.
September in the Dolomites: cool air, late summer light, and fewer crowds. This will be Way Up North’s ninth time hosting here.
Format & Size
Photography-centric and physically active. Expect hikes, weather that changes its mind, and long drives to reach the best locations. The goal is to maximise time together, covering as many locations as possible across two days.
Midday discussions focus on business strategy and personal growth as an artist. Photography and exploration sit at the centre. If you’re looking for structured, lecture-style learning, this isn’t that.
Host
Cole Roberts
Cole is the co-founder of Way Up North, Nordica, Hop Farm Beach and has been a Fujifilm X-Photographer since 2016. Living in Gävle, Sweden with his family, he often dreams of more time at his cabin, immersed in nature, chopping wood, and enjoying country music.
Included / Not-included
Transportation from Venice to the Dolomites is offered on September 14th if your flights match the host’s. Return trips to Venice airport on September 17th are also covered when matching the host’s schedule.
We’ll gather on the evening of September 14th in Cortina, ready for two days of shooting. Expect sunrise to sunset on September 15th and 16th. Full days.
Participants are responsible for their own accommodation in Cortina d’Ampezzo. Workshop fees don’t cover meals and drinks. Guests can stay anywhere in Cortina. The host will be at Hotel Olimpia. Central, reasonably priced, solid.
Who Will We Photograph?
Two couples needed, one per shooting day.
The exchange: be photographed in wedding attire on your day, attend the workshop as a participant on the other. No fee.
